In rural Nepal, collecting water can take hours from the day, and unreliable supplies make washing and growing food harder. We fund household water systems, food-growing skills and education support with local organizations, helping communities meet more of their needs over time.

Featured case study · 2026 water-tank project
In Okhaldhunga, homes are scattered across steep hillsides, often far from dependable water sources. Unsafe drinking water can cause illness and interrupt children’s schooling. The 2026 project combines rainwater storage beside the home with water treatment, hygiene education and support for kitchen gardens. Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN), a local organization in Nepal, coordinates the work with local crews and participating households.

Our partner in Nepal
We work with Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN), a Nepali nonprofit that coordinates agreed projects with local communities, crews and households. Friends of VIN Canada approves project scope and budgets and provides funding and Canadian oversight.
Families bring knowledge of their land, water needs and daily routines. That helps shape installations and training they can use and look after. The Canadian charity reviews activity and financial reporting and remains independently governed in Canada.
